I'M GOING TO THAILAND!

I am about to head out on the absolute biggest adventure of my life in just 5 days and I'm so excited! I have been planning on going on a student exchange since grade 11 of high school. Fast forward three years and I am now just days away from boarding a plane to Thailand for five months!! I'm excited, anxious, and finally starting to get nervous. I don't think I'm scared of being away from home, but it's going to be such a culture shock. If I thought moving to Ottawa was an adjustment from coming from small town Chipman, NB (which it was moving to a city that has more people than my entire home province!), than this might just kill me. Not really, I know I'll be fine, but it's still nerve wracking to think about just how far I actually am travelling (13 316km by the way). But none the less, I'm so so so so stoked about this trip.

It hadn't officially sunk in to me that I'd be going to Asia until like three days ago when I started getting all my paperwork ready and started packing. Ever since then my stomach has been a knot of nerves. As far as my checklist goes, and my mother's crazy extensive checklist, I'm ready to go save for the exception of a few more luggage accessories and snacks for the plane. One of my favourite things about going back to school each year is getting everything ready for my dorm/apartment, etc. The last two summers I spent so much of my summers pinteresting room decoration ideas, looking for bedding and furniture, and of course making my wall decorations. This summer I didn't get to make my room decor pinterest board, but rather I've been researching all the countries I could potentially travel to, fun things to do in Bangkok, tips to know about traveling solo, and so much more. Now I can't wait to actually do all those things!!!

I'll say it one last time, I'm excited! And so grateful that I have the opportunity to study abroad for a semester of university. And of course so very grateful for my parents for making sure that an exchange was possible for me. I'll try to blog often while I'm away so they can at least know that I'm still alive and haven't ran off with any foreigners hahahah.

Bye for now!!
